Chapter 1
                                                The zoo

It was a beautiful July morning as Arsenie peered out the window to see the beautiful scenery. There was something about this day that had Arsenie feeling very well. Maybe it was the nice cool weather or the way the sun was shining through the trees that gave a very beautiful glow to the life that was on the lower ground. He looked over at his friend who also seemed like he was taking in the scenery well. As every breath he took in was like a breath for something new to happen. He looked at Dan and said in a excited voice“ So Dan, where are we going”.  Dan looked at him smiled and kept on driving. Arsenie knew there was no chance to Dan ever telling them where they were going. Dan always did this to Arsenie because he knew he was very forgetful.
Arsenie was the younger of the boys and the second member. His looks always had the women going crazy over him. Most noticeable thing on Arsenie was his eyes. Eyes that shine with a beautiful crystal blue. Arsenie nature was always a dreamer when he is alone his head is always in the clouds.  He spent all his life in Moldova, a very clam nice place but not to stay there forever. His most biggest dream was to go all over Europr. He finally did when he met Dan for an audition to be in a band called o zone. Arsenie was thrilled about this chance to see the world and sang for Dan. Dan fell in love with his voice and took him in right away. Now all they needed was another member. Then along came Radu.
Radu was the third member of the band. His voice made Dan feel something different and he liked it. Radu’s heart belonged to his love Ana and disappointed many fans with this story.  She was not a singer but she studied to be a lawyer so she could not go with Radu as he went on tours with the band. They were child hood friends and have always been together. When he left from being with her to be in the band he knew his heart belong to her so he went back to her. Radu looks were charming and sweet. His eyes had no rare colour but they showed his kindness to all who looked into his eyes. His voice was also very loved by all his fans. So he always sang loud for them. 
Radu, Dan nor Arsenie were thinking about there fame. they were on their break and trying to enjoy there freedom from all the screaming fans they had back in Romania.
  Dan began to speak but then Arsenie went in and said “no its ok Dan you can tell me where we are going”.
“Arsenie if you have listened before you would know where we are going” Radu said back to Arsenie in a in a clam voice.
“we are going to see you family Sento” Dan said to Arsenie with a little laugh.
Arsenie looked over to Radu then Dan and seen that they had a little joke going. Both where laughing very hard and trying to clear the tears in their eyes. Then Radu managed to get out “he means the monkeys”. when he said this his laugh got more loud.. Radu got serious and said “we are going to a safari park”
Arsenie looked at Radu then Dan and said “so we are going to a zoo”.
“yes Sento whatever you want to call it”. Dan smiled at Arsenie hoping to get one back. Arsenie was insulted by there behaviour and crossed hid arms and looked out the window.
“looks like we god a moody case on our car today” Dan sad to Radu who was looking out the window in a dreamy state. They drove on hoping to get to the zoo so Arsenie will change his mood.
The rest of the drive was quite until they got to the zoo. Dan drove in the park slowly so not to hit the side walks. Arsenie suddenly had a smile on his face. He like the zoo and was always happy when Dan brought him there. Dan did this a lot. Radu seen that Arsenie was happy now and began to smile to. They drove on looking at all the animals. The tigers were every where and they were all sleeping very soundly. Dan smile at the sleeping animals as he looked for a place to park the car. As he looked up he seen a sigh that read “warning monkey have escaped from their cages and loose every where”. Dan looked at Arsenie and could see that he had fright in his eyes. “Arsenie keep an eye open” Dan said to him with a quiver in his voice. Dan drove on and it has been awhile since he saw anything so he forgot about the monkeys. “so Sento are you happy to be here”. Dan said with a little smirk on his face. Arsenie looked at Dan smiling “yes Dan you know this already”. they both laughed to them selves and drove on.
Dan was almost parked when he heard and loud “thump” on the roof of the car. “what was that” Radu said as he sat there covering his head with his hands. Dan and Arsenie were in a daze as they looked ahead of them. Radu was curious of what they were looking at, so he lifted his head to see what it was. As he peered out the window he seen a gang of monkeys running towards the car. Thie site of all the creatures running for the car scared them. Thankfully Arsenie had some sweets left from what his mother packed him before the boys came to England. He looked out the window and threw the food as far as he can so the monkeys will go far enough for all them to get away. The plan worked and the boys made a great escape from the hyper monkeys.
It was another long drive to a parking place but Dan liked the drive. Dan was the first member of the o zone band. Before Arsenie and Radu he was with another guy who was his good friend from long ago.  Dan wanted to sell better the music he was writing. So he went to go out and find other band mates. All over the world their song “love under the linden trees” sold all over the world. Dan was also the ladies man in the group. he was liked for the sexy smile and the devilish good looks. He had nice eyes that showed his innocence and at the same time told people that he can be a bad boy to. His hair that he always kept clean cut made his features on his face show more. What most made him proud was the scar on his right cheek that he got from a fierce fight with a guy over a girl. He lost and got a big cut on this face from a piece of glass. In the end he got the girl. Dan still is that way but he tries to have less fights.
They finally found a good parking space that had no monkeys around. Dan looked at Radu and could still see the fear in his face. He laughed and said to Radu trying his best to be serious “Rady don’t worry you are to small for them to touch you” he looked at Dan and tried his best to smile and show that he was not really that scared. Radu got out of the car and could feel his knees get really shaky and his standing was a little off balance. “so Dan where do we start” Radu said to Dan still having a little shaky voice. Dan looked at Radu and could not help to laugh again. “well” Dan said slowly starting to clam down “we will let Sento decide since this is his favourite place“. Radu knew that Arsenie was the youngest and Dan’s responsibility to make sure Arsenie did not do anything stupid. Radu liked arsenie but didn‘t like always being picked last. “lets go see the bears”. Dan nodded to him and they let Arsenie lead the way.
The weather was never anymore clear. The sun was shining down on Arsenie face giving him a soft glow. The smell for being in a zoo was not very bad. It smelled of sweet flowers like the way they smelled when they first bloomed on the nice spring day. Arsenie’s friends though he was a little bit weird for liking this. Dan has once said to him “why sento do you like all this its for women to enjoy beautiful things like this”. He remembered this every day like it was just said to him not to long ago. There was something about these things that always had Arsenie in a dreamy state. as he looked he saw the bumble bees fly around the flowers to collect pollen to make honey. Then it made him sad and he thought to him self that only pretty things like this is only in parks and green houses. He did not want to make himself unhappy and he moved on looking at the animals.
Radu also loved this kind of scenery but he did not think the same as Arsenie. Every time he saw something beautiful he always thought of Ana. He remembered when they first reunited from years from being away from each other. He asked her to marry him right away. It was a nice summer night and it was Radu and Ana‘s anniversary. They have been together for two years. Radu planned this night like he had an exam to do for school. He said his words over and over to himself so he can make the moment right. They were going to eat at Ana’s favourite restaurant called “the lower deck”. he knew this was going to be the night him and Ana will be together forever. He looked over at her and she was so sweet. her face was so beautiful and glowed. He loved her and she loved him. He walk over to her side and held her hand. Radu realized that Ana knew what was going to happen as he noticed her eyes beginning to fill with tears. He looked at her sweetly got on one knee and said “Ana will you marry me”. she nodded because she knew if she talked her tears will come streaming down her face. Radu and Ana enjoyed the dinner for the rest of the evening and stared in each others eyes.
The sun cooled down and a breeze was starting up. “finally now we can stop sweating to death” Dan said as he buttoned his shirt up more. Dan and Radu were so into their conversation that they did not notice Arsenie go wondering off. “ now where did that boy go” Dan said as he raised he hands to his hips. Radu looked every where and could not see him anywhere’s. they looked over and seen that Arsenie was playing near the raccons. He was jumping around laughing to himself having a good time. His fun was stopped with Dan and Radu ran up to him and started yelling at him for taking off the way he did. “Arsenie why don’t you ever listen to us you are always running off and scaring us to death”. Arsenie looked at them both and could see the disappointment clearly in their eyes. He frowned and looked down at his feet. His mood changed when a group of beautiful girls passed by throwing winks at Arsenie and Dan. They stopped and asked for an autograph from the boys. One of the girls looked over at Radu and said “how is Ana”. Radu knew he wasn’t going to get the attention as good as the other boys because he was married. “she is very well thanks” he stopped his gaze with the girls and turned his head to the side. The girls left and the guys continued to watch the animals.
It began to rain and Arsenie took one last stop at the racoons again. One racoon noticed him close to the cage and ran up close o the bars. Arsenie was pleased to see the little animal. He put his hand in the cage to pet it but not noticing the sign that was just above his head.  It read “keep all hands and faces away from the cage serious risk of rabies”  Arsenie continued to pet the racoon. He liked it and thought it liked him because it came so close to him. Just as he removed his hand he got a terrible bite from the racoon. “ouch” said Arsenie as he held his hand close to him trying to stop the pain. “Sento now looked what happened because you don’t listen” as he was saying this he was pointing to the sign that was just above Arsenies head. “ I am sorry Dan I did not see” Arsenie said still holding his arm. “Radu come on we have to take him to the hospital to get this checked” Dan saind in a worried voice. Radu nodded and followed. The snakes were Radu favorite part and he was sad because he did not get to see them. Dan drove at a fast pace to get Arsenie to the hospital as quick as he can.
As the boys arrived to the hospital they seen that it was packed with a ton of people. Arsenie looked at them with a disappointed look and asked Dan to find another hospital. It was another long drive for them to find another hospital. Dan was not very sure where to go in England so he relied on what he saw when he was on the airplane going to America for a concert. The weather was nice and he could see clearly down. He remember seeing the way England looked up high. Dan always looked at maps and surfing the web on England. He was planning on taking a break for awhile in England. They finally came to a hospital. This place did not look like an hospital, it looked more like a broken down apartment building. Arsenie did not care what it looked like. His hand was in a lot of pain now and he wanted to get it fixed as soon as he can. Dan noticed this and hurried Arsenie in. they went in the hospital and it was not as bad as they thought it would be. It was cleaner looking then it was from the outside. They went to the front desk and where taken in quickly. Dan looked over at Radu and said to him “you stay here and wait for us we will be out soon ok” Radu again just looked at Dan and nodded. He sat there watching as his two friend went into the room that was a few steps from where Radu was sitting. As he watched them walk away he felt tears began to fill his eyes.
Dan and Arsenie sat there waiting for the doctor to come to their room so they can hurry and leave. It seemed like forever and finally the doctor came in. the man looked kind and Dan seen that he liked his job. He looked at Arsenie and said “well hello there what can I do to help you” his smile was beginning to give Arsenie a little scare. Arsenie said back in a low voice “I was bitten from a raccoon” as he said this he raised his hand and showed it to the doctor. He looked at it bit his lip and left the room. Arsenie was very tired now and looked impatiently at the door waiting for the doctor to hurry back. Finally ten minutes later the doctor retuned with two needle in his hand. He said next to Arsenie and asked him to lay down. Arsenie was a little bit scared now and was not very sure to trust the doctor. He took the first needle and put the needle in Arsenie’s arm. He looked down at Arsenie and said “this is going to burn a bit so bear with me ok”. Arsenie fright began to get worse and he bit his lips and closed his eyes tight. The doctor began to put the serum in Arsenie. The felling of fire went into him and the pain was unbearable and Arsenie let out a little cry. Dan ran to his side and help his hand. “Arsenie come on you can do it isn’t so bad it will be over soon” Dan said to Arsenie trying to get him relaxed. The doctor finish and started with the other needle. Then he said to Arsenie this one is going to sting a little bit”. Arsenie eyes began to fill with tears as the doctor continued and he wished he had not put his hand in the cage.
Radu was getting very tired just sitting there waiting for the other two to come out. He did not realized that there was a little girl sitting beside him moving closer and closer to him. He looked over at her and gave her a little smile. She smiled back sweetly as she started to rest her head on his shoulder. He eyes closed and she fell asleep. This made Radu a bit uncomfortable and he tried to signal the nurse to come over and help him out. He looked over and seen the nurse was really busy with her work . Radu knew he had to wait because he did not want to be mean and just push her off. So he sat there waiting for someone to help and get the little girl. A few seconds later a nurse came up with the name tag that read “Isabelle”. she looked down at Radu and let out a cute laugh. When Radu looked over to her he was surprised. She looked so much like his wife Ana. It made Radu a bit sad because he missed Ana and wanted to be with her. The nurse seen Radu just starting at her so she said “that is sally she likes making new friends so she sleeps on them it a sickness she has”. Radu felt sad for sally and looked down at the magizine she was reading. As he looked closer he saw his picture. He looked at sally and smiled and signed the book. It said “dear sally lots of hugs and you can sleep on my shoulder any time love Radu”. he shut the book and watched as the nurse carried her away.
Arsenie laid there feeling very drowsy watching as Dan talked to the doctor. Dan came in the room and said to Arsenie “the drugs the doctor gave you will stop you from getting rabies and also that you well fell very tired for a bit while the drugs kick in”. Arsenie looked at Dan and with a confused looked got up and began for the door. He was a bit dizzy which made him fall to the floor and hit his head on the wall. Dan laughed a bit and walked to help his friend to his feet. Arsenie was to drugged to care what was going on so he laughed hard and held on to Dan as they walked out of the room. They walked into the waiting area and seen Radu who was sleeping on the chairs. Arsenie looked at him wide eyed and went over to him. Radu jumped from fright and smiled over at Arsenie who was wobbling back and forth. Radu looked to Dan and said “what is wrong with Arsenie”. Dan looked at Radu and shrugged his shoulders and walked on. The got into the car and headed home.
The drive was long as Dan tried to find the hotel. But it was nice seeing the nice city lights. It made every night when Dan was a little boy he remembered staring out from his window and seeing all the cars and lights of the city.  His mother was the one that made home, home. She was never hom emost of the time because she was on tours for her television show. He smiled to him self and remembered the fun times he had with her. Dan snapped out of his memories and looked over to Arsenie and Radu who were sleeping soundly. He looked back to the front window and could see the hotel through the rain that was pouring the on window. The sudden stop Dan made got Radu to jump up ad look in every direction. Dan laughed and said “help me get Sento to his room”. Radu nodded and the long trip began as they worked their way to the rooms. Finally, they came to room three and got Arsenie in bed. Dan looked at Radu and said with a small snicker “well this was one day to remember” . Radu laughed with him and the two guys went to there rooms to try and get a good nights sleep. They all fell asleep and had sweet dreams as they waited for morning to come and have another eventful day.

chapter 2
          the black creature

Arsenie opened his eyes to a very dark room. He looked from side to side trying to remember how he got to his bed. He raised his head a little more and can see both Dan and Radu playing cards. Dan noticed Arsenie stirring in his bed and he went over to him. “so how you feeling Sento” Dan said as he felt Arsenie’s head.  He looked up at Dan with a confused look in his eyes and said “how did I get here I don’t remember anything”. Dan looked at him and realized that Arsenie was so drugged last night he had no clue what was going on. “well you were bit by a raccoon and the doctor had to give to heavy drugs to stop you from getting rabies”. Arsenie then moved from a confused look to a scared look. Arsenie suddenly felt a bit light headed and laid his head at rest. “today I have some important news to tell you guys so we will go eat at the park” Dan said as he shifted his look over from Arsenie to Radu. They both looked at him and nodded.
The hotel was a bit dark as the three boys left to go for their long drive. Outside the weather was beautiful and Arsenie went into another dreamy state. Today was different and he was thinking back to when he first met carol his first love. It was a calm summer night and Arsenie was celebrating his 16 birthday. The night was going well until he got into a small car accident with his friends. He was rushed to the hospital and treated immediately for his minor injuries. Carol who was a trainee at the hospital was assigned to watch over Arsenie for the night. He awoke to see her face so close to his. Her beauty and the smell of her perfume that he can still recall today was the smell of Tahitian orchid. Her face which reminded him of an angel that was sent to watch over him. His mouth opened, but no words were able to come out. She turned to walk out and Arsenie thought he was never going to see her again. Tears began to fill his eyes and she turned to give him a smile and dropped a paper on the table beside him. They dated for 2 years after that and then he got into the band o zone which caused them to separate. He called many times after and tried to stay in contact but then all was lost and they never spoke again.
Radu’s phone rang so loudly that is made him jump. He looked down and could see it was Ana. He picked up the line to hear a screaming voice on the other side. This sent some shivers down Arsenie and Dan’s back. They stopped the car and watched as Radu’s jaw began to drop and his eyes grew bigger. They wanted to know what was going on but had to wait until he was done. They waiting impatiently to hear what news Radu had. After about ten minutes he put his phone down looked at his other band mates and said “I am going to be a daddy”. they looked at Radu with a confused looked. Arsenie and Dan were curious to why their friend was so sad looking after hearing great news. “why are you sad Radu” Dan said in a calming voice. He looked up and the Arsenie and Dan seen that his eyes were full of tears. Arsenie and Dan wanted to know what was wrong with their friend. By the looks on Radu’s face he looked like he did not want to be bothered at the moment. The two guys seen what was going on and was quite for the rest of the drive.
After the long drive through the woods they stopped at a open field. The scenery was clear the field stretched out for miles. This place still did not seem to put a smile on Radu’s face. They both tried so hard to make a fool of themselves to make Radu happy again. Arsenie then started to get frustrated and asked “so Radu what was that call about you can tell us we are you friends”. he looked at both and more tears filled his eyes. As he cried his story came out. When he was done the Dan and Arsenie were stunned and did not know what to say but just stand there with mouths wide open. Dan and Arsenie stayed quiet no matter how sad Radu looked. They walked out to the field to eat their lunch. All was quiet and it was making Arsenie a bit bored so be began walking in circles looking at the sky wishing he was back home. They were all on vacation now so he was going to make the best of what time he had away from the craziness that was going on with their fame back in Romania. They all looked at each other and sighed and walk around the field exploring it every corner.
Radu and Olivia where good friends but he knew he was making the wrong choice he asked her to be his dancer. He thought he would give her a chance giving the fact that they have been friends since they were little kids. He took her in because he knew she had talent. Every thing seemed to be going as planned. Olivia was clean from drugs and always stayed concentrated on her work. It all changed when she had a little slip. Radu got a call late in the evening with Olivia on the other line crying asking Radu to come over. He ran over to her room that was just a few steps away from his door. He walked in and seen her on the sofa with her face in her hands slowly wiping her tears away. “what is wrong Olivia” Hesaid as he walked over to her and gave her a hug. She looked up and not saying a word kissed him on the lips. He jumped back and held his lips and looked over at Olivia strangely. She leaned against the couch and looked to her side. He did not know what was going through his head and he held her face in his hands and kissed her softly on the lips. He did not know what he was doing and why he was doing it but all he could think of is Ana.
“Radu why would you go and do such a thing” Arsenie said after the long silence the fell over the boys. Radu looked down and knew he could not fix what has happened. Also Radu could not get rid of the pictures that a nosy reporter took while him and Olivia were together. There was no chance that Ana would never know. Arsenie held his mouth and said “so her kid is it…..” Arsenie hoped that what Radu was going to say was not the answer he was expecting. Radu looked up and stared into Arsenie eyes and said “yes the little boy is mine”. Dan was hearing the conversation between these two and dropped what he was eating and stared at Radu with a deranged stare. The vacation was not a very good one it was filed with pain, heartache and tears. A silence fell once again on the boys as they continued to eat. The sun was still shining no matter what troubles came to the guys the sun will never stop shining.
“alo” Arsenie said as he opened his phone to answer it. It was his mother on the other end crying and yelling at him at the same time. “ calm down mother its ok I promised I would stop ok and I will” He said as he looked more and more annoyed. then a looked of wonderment came to his face and he looked over at Radu “well he has worried also but he has troubles of his own” Arsenie said slowly turning away from the guys. Arsenie mother was worried and knew that Arsenie was still smoking. It made her worry everyday. Arsenie being famous and always being stalked by the paparazzi it was difficult to have anything a secret in his life. He only used it as a stress reliever when he has had a hard day with the concert tours and all the traveling they all did form country to country. Arsenie’s mother on the other hand was looking at it as a thing that was going to kill her son faster. The call ended with Arsenie laughing with his mother and having a good conversation. He said good bye and put his phone away and joined the other guys. Arsenie looked up at the sky and knew it was coming near dinner time. He looked over at the other two and said “we should be going now it is starting to get really dark”. they all got up and made their was over to the car.
The drive seemed like forever and Dan was getting aggravated the more he tried to find his way out from the woods. The sky was growing dark and they were all getting tired. Arsenie looked at his watched and seen it was going for eight o’clock and they were still lost. Radu began to panic and shift from all sides in the back seat. Dan laughed to see this but seen the mean looked he got from Arsenie as he turned his head. “Dan maybe you took the wrong path or went the wrong direction” He said to Dan when the clock came to be 8:30. Dan could remember that it did not take them this long to get into the woods. Dan realized he was lost and stopped the car stepped out and looked in every direction like he was looking for an answer. Dan leaned down put his head in the car and said to the other two “we are lost”. Dan fell to the ground and slammed his back against the side of the car and tired clearing his mind.  Radu’s panic sent Dan in a hard laughter. He could never remember laughing so hard in his life and he thanked Radu after for helping him with it. He put his head back and tried to think of what to do. Arsenie was in the car with his walkman on listening to some music and Radu hands on his waist looking at Dan with a pitiful look. The day was ending and they were still there not sure what to do.
Dan heard the sound of a purring cat coming from the tree that was beside him. It was dark out now so Dan could not see good what the noise was coming from. He moved closer to the tree to try and get a better look. His stomach began to turn when before his eyes appear a huge black fury creature with yellow eyes staring back into his. The creature looked like it was in attacking state and was going to head right for Dan. Radu was curious why his friend was just standing there so he walked over to him. “Dan what are you doing come on in the car we will just keep driving we might get out of this mess”. Radu could see that he was not getting his attention so he looked at what Dan was looking at. The sight to Radu  scared him to a point where it felt like his heart fell to the bottom of his stomach and he was frozen from all movement. He looked at Dan who was motioning him to go slowly to the car. He looked at Dan and nodded and began to run away from Dan. Dan fell to his knees when the creature went running after Radu. He started ahead not sire what to do. The creature was after Radu and there was no saying what was going to happen to him.
Arsenie got out of the car looked at Dan who had a confused look on his face. “where is Radu” Arsenie said looking towards Dan who was in a trance and snapped out of it as soon as he heard Arsenie’s words. He looked at Arsenie with fright in his eyes and began to run towards where Radu and the creature were heading. Arsenie was curious to where Dan was heading so he ran after him. The run was long and there was still no sign of Radu. What has happened to their friend was he eaten or did he escape from the animal. It was a race, a race for the love of a good friend and also a race for life. Both knew that no matter what they must never stopped running until they find Radu weather he was dead or alive. Dan could feel his head beating faster and faster as he ran more and more. Arsenie was behide Dan a bit of the way. He seen that he came to a complete stopped and looked to the ground. Arsenie ran faster thinking his friend was tired and needed motivation “come on Dan we must find Radu before he gets really hurt”. Dan did not answer and it made Arsenie scared. “what’s wrong” Arsenie said with a tremble in his voice. Dan pointed to the ground at where he was staring at and looked over to Arsenie. When he looked down he saw a small puddle of blood on the ground. Both of them hoped it was not from Radu and stared to run again. This time more faster hoping to find their friend still alive.
Radu ran trying to fight the pain from the scratch the animal gave him when his run slowed down. He had no idea what was going to happen if he stopped running. He did not want to be dinner to a creature let alone die at all. Radu remembered that he still has the lunch bag on his back and remember there was still food in there. He threw it down hopping that it slowed the animal down. He quickly took it of his back and threw it to the ground. The plan worked but only for a bit. The creature knew that better game was running from him. Radu looked back and seen the creature pace getting faster as he came towards him and his life was unquestionable to weather it was going to be saved or not. Then he thought of Ana and wished he did not do those horrible things to her. Maybe this was punishment for his wrong doing and fate was playing games with him warning him that what he did was the worst. The thought was then stopped when I tug from the animal on his pant leg caused him to fall to the ground. He looked ahead and all he could see was big yellow eyes coming for his face.
Arsenie and Dan can hear screaming now so they knew they were close to Radu. Arsenie speed picked up as he ran towards the noise. His run was stopped when he tripped and fell to the ground over what seem like a little bag. Dan walked over to it and picked up the mangled lunch bag. He seen it was the lunch bag that Radu had on his back when they left from the spot they were eating. Tears filled his eyes and he did not want to go on. Dan was afraid to find their friend badly eaten or dead. Arsenie got up from the ground and seen Dan had his head in his hands. As he walked over to him he seen Dan fall to the ground. Arsenie knew that he had fainted. So he ran to his side and tried hard to get his friend back up but there was no luck. He looked at him and seen his eyes open slowly. “Dan go back to the car and get help ok I am going to get Radu”. Dan nodded and got to his feet. Dan looked over to Arsenie and there was a sudden quietness and after that followed by a loud scream. Arsenie eyes grew wide with fear also with Dan. They looked at each other and ran in different directions. Dan went to call for help and Arsenie to see if his friend was still alive.
Radu tried to fight the animal off of him by hitting him as hard as he can. Every hit he gave to the animal he could feel the pain of teeth or claws going through his skin. He knew then there was  no chance that he was going to live through this and the animal was gong to take his life. Radu prayed as he fought off the beast thinking to himself that he has to live to see his baby be born and to watch it grow up. If he died now he will never see his child grow up or ever see his wife again. What was worse was that he was going to die with his love Ana still angry at him. Radu did not want to die he wanted to live to apologizes to Ana and to everyone he has ever hurt. He kept this in his mind as he looked for ways to get the animal off of him. He saw a big enough rock for him to carry and one that can do some damage. He picked it up high and brought it down hard on the animals head. The animal laid motionless on Radu with shallow breathing. He feared for the animal to awake so he pushed it off and crawled away. He felt weak and he could not hold his body up anymore. He rested there waiting for help, scared to bleed to death or the animal awake to eat what was left of him. He fought to stay awake and all he could hear was the sound of running feet.
It was night now but the moonlight helped Arsenie to see where he was going. There was no sound anymore not even the sound from the screams Radu was making. All was quiet. As Arsenie ran more he saw the creature as it lied there motionless on the ground. He was then filled with fright when he saw there was blood everywhere. This filled him up with fright as he looked to see where his friend was. As he looked the moonlight was shining on a motionless body that laid near the animal. Arsenie ran over to him hoping he was still alive. He knelt down beside him and put his hand on Radu’s chest. He could feel he was still breathing so he held him close praying rocking back and forth. Praying that he lived and not have to suffer. Arsenie began to cry as he held Radu closer. He searched his body noticing may cuts where blood was coming out. Arsenie took his shirt off and tried to stop all the bleeding. He dragged the nearly lifeless body to the tree that stood near by. He was waiting hoping that Dan has called for help already. He leaned his head against the tree and closed his eyes. Before he knew it he was fast asleep.
Dan called the hospital and reported the events that happened. When he was done he closed his phone and waiting wondering what was going on with his friends. He was most worried for Radu who even to Arsenie did not look like he was going to make it. Dan searched the car for food hoping there was some. As he searched his head began to hurt more and more. He did not know what was happening to him. Whatever it was the pain was getting more worse as he went on he was lucky enough there was Tylenol in the bag that was left behind for him to take. He waited for what seemed like hours before the police came so he rested in the back seat of the car. He covered him self up and tried to sleep. He was not lucky to be able to fall asleep. Dan was to worried about his other friends and he laid there wishing that they are well and not hurt. He closed his eyes and slowly fell asleep.
Arsenie was awaken by the loud sirens by the ambulance that was parked close to where they both were resting. He saw many cars around him as they looked over the ground trying to gather what they can. Two men in navy jackets came up to Arsenie and Radu. They looked at both and did a few tests on Arsenie. As they continued he saw as they took Radu away. Arsenie got to his feet fast and followed where they were taking Radu. He looked in the ambulance but the door was closed violently in his face. The van drove off taking Arsenie best friend away. He did not even know if he was alive. A short small stubby women came up to Arsenie and asked him a few questions. “are you a Dan Balan”. Arsenie looked over at her and said “no he is back at the car”. she nodded and walked in the other direction. Arsenie watched as they cleaned up the place. It was a public walking park and many people soon will be driving through it. A tall dark man came up to Arsenie and motioned him to follow him to the police car. Arsenie followed, before he knew it they were driving in the direction Dan was in.
Dan was fully awake now and sat up in the front seat waiting for someone to come and get him. He was getting really hungry now and wanted food. He sat with the door open to get fresh air. It was in the after noon now and the sun was shining bright not giving off to much heat. The breeze brushed over Dan’s face and gave him a relaxing feeling. The day was beautiful and it was not going to change even from all that has happened to them. Dan thought what have they done to get such bad luck. They try not to do things that are unwanted and they do everything right. He thought this to himself wishing he was back in Moldova where his family was and he was happy had no worries in his head. Dan was in a deep relaxation that he did not hear the car come up to the side of his. Arsenie jumped out and shook Dan around trying to get his attention. Dan looked up to Arsenie and said “where is Radu”. Arsenie looked down at Dan and tears began to fill his eyes. Dan then got scared and asked “he is not dead is he Arsenie is he dead”. “no. well I don’t know we have to go to the hospital to find out” Arsenie said to him trying to stop his crying. Arsenie and Dan got into the car and made their way to the hospital. What will come of their friend when they get there will he be alive or will they never hear from him again.
The drive was a nerve racking one as they got closer to the hospital. “what did he looked like when you found him Arsenie” Dan said to him as he kept his focus on the road making sure to go the right direction. Arsenie looked at him and gave him in full detail what Radu looked like. Dan was shocked to hear this he never knew something this bad would have happened to their little Radu. They drove up to the hospital and went inside hoping it was the right hospital there were coming to. Dan went to the front desk and seen no one was in sight. “where do you think they would keep patients like Radu” Dan said to Arsenie as he looked down the hallways. He looked up at the ceiling and saw a grey sign that said intensive care and a arrow pointing down the hall way. Dan looked over at Arsenie who was pointing at the ceiling. They both walked down the hall searching every room hoping to find Radu. The came to room 2309, it was the last room on that that section. Dan slowly walked in as Arsenie followed after him. When he finally went he saw Radu on the hospital bed motionless. This scared Dan but he presumed that he was alive because he was there and resting. But he was not awake he laid there sleeping. Dan and Arsenie sat by his side waiting to see some life from their friend.
“Ana what is wrong” Melody said to her as she saw her sitting there crying. Ana looked over at her and threw the new letter on the table. Melody looked at the front page that had Radu and Olivia all over it. “oh my god why would he do such a thing” melody said to Ana as she covered her mouth with her hand. “I don’t know maybe he was just drunk or something” Ana did not want to hear Radu’s name anymore. She wanted to just get away. She thought about going to her parents house and staying there for awhile while she had time to think things over. It was a long night and Ana held the phone in her hand wondering if she should call him and get an explanation from him. Slowly she dialled the number and waiting for him to answer. The phone rang once and went dead. “he hung up on me” Ana said as she looked over at Melody. Ana got up and went to her room closed the door and went to bed.
“Dan…..Arsenie” Radu said while his eyes were still closed. Dan looked over at Arsenie who was still sleeping on the chair. “he little guy how you feeling” Dan said kindly over to Radu. Radu could not talk anymore and just laid there with a smile on his face. He closed his eyes and went back to bed. Arsenie woke up and seen Dan sleep to as well and Radu to also. He went down the hell to get a drink and came back to find his friends still sleeping. He wondered the halls finding ways to amuse himself. When he stopped too see a nurse with a trolley he thought right away of carol. He walked over to her trying to get a good look. He finally got close enough but she moved away rushing into the elevator. Arsenie returned to the room and saw Dan and Radu up talking. Arsenie was glad to finally see some motion in him. Dan looked over at Arsenie and said “well we will not be going to the woods anymore”. this made Radu and Arsenie laugh. They all laughed together and talked for the rest on the evening.

Chapter 3
                                               Carol

Arsenie awoke and seen Dan and Radu were still asleep. He quietly left the room hoping to not awake them. He got away good and took a small walk down the hall. On his small walk a noise sounding like a loud grumble made him jump. After last nights ordeal there was no saying what was left of his mental sense. He then realized it was just his stomach wanting food. He walked all around the hospital looking for the cafeteria so he can satisfy his hunger. As he wondered off he knew he was heading in the wrong direction. The hallways began to have a weird smell to them and it grew very quiet. He walked along and a women came up to him and grabbed him by the arm and started to run still holding on to him. Arsenie could not see who this women was, all he could see was the back of her head. They ran for what seem liked and endless journey and finally came to a stop. Arsenie noticed it was a nurse the probably was just getting him way from there. When he looked over at her she could not look into his face. He reached his hand out and held in gently under her chin and lifted her head until her eyes met his. His heart fall as he seen who the person was that stood in front of him.
Arsenie could not believe his eyes that his long lost love was finally there standing right in front of him. She looked more beautiful then he has ever remember her. “hi” came a small voice from her as she lowered her heard to look at her feet. The sound was like the squealing of a mouse. He was speechless all he did was stare with a wide open jaw. He looked twice to her and wrapped his arms around her body. The hug felt good to carol and him. “I thought I would never see you again and now look you are here in front of my eyes this is the best day I can ever ask for” as he said this tears filled his eyes and held her tighter. Carol gave in and soon to began to fill up with tears. They were not tears of sadness but tears of happiness. Happiness of two people who were meant to be together and finally found each other.
The talk was well as Arsenie and carol sat there eating lunch in the cafeteria.
“so what have you been doing with you time” arsenie said to her in wonderment.
“well..I….” she paused and raised her hand on the table.
“your married….with whom” Asenie said as his heart fell to the ground.
“well his name is Thomas and he is from America and I met him when I was going to school….he is a great guy” she said as she stared at the floor next to her.
“wow…I never knew…married” Arsenie said as he looked down at his folded hands.
Arsenie then realized then that the women he loved was taken from a man named Tom. He did not know what to do or what to say next. He was scared that the words that would come out are not going to be the ones he wants to say.
Dan came down and seen Arsenie sitting at the table but he did not know who the girl was that was sitting with him. He walked over and introduced himself. “hello, I am Dan, Arsenie band mate”. he said to her all the while with a smile on his face. “hello” she said in return to him as she watch him take a seat beside her. The conversation was going well as they ate lunch. Arsenie and carol were catching upon all the years that they have been apart. Arsenie has learned that Carol in is a heart specialist and has been married for three years. She spent her whole time in England with her husband who she loves dearly. This story made him sad but then he was happy because she was doing what she always loved. The conversation ended with a group of doctors running down the hallway heading in Radu’s direction. Dan and Arsenie look at each other and ran behind the doctors. Carol got up and followed them to as well wondering where they were going. As they came closer to the room they seen that it was Radu’s room they were in. Arsenie stood there wide eyed and praying that there was nothing really wrong with Radu. Carol went in the room and look back to see the worried look on Dan and Arsenie faces. “its ok I will check it out” she said to them as she closed the door.
The wait was short and Carol came back out. “well…it is nothing to worry about just a bad reaction to the new medicine that we were giving him he will no be awake for awhile”. Dan and Arsenie worried look fell off their faces and they entered the room. Doctors where swarming around Radu checking the monitors and his pulse. Dan’s eyes filled with tears to see his friend in such a condition. He walked over to Radus side and held his hand. He rested his forehead on Radus hand and prayed. Arsenie was not so sure he can stat in the room. The atmosphere was saddening and the sight of Radu was making Arsenie feel worse then he already felt. He walked out in the hallway and seen carol still standing there talking to the doctor. She turned around and waved at him. When the conversation was done she came and sat next to Arsenie. “ I am assigned to watch over your friend his condition is not good. Serious risk of a heart attack may happen” Carol said to him still looking down at her feet. Arsenie heart at this moment was ever so broke that he did not know what to do. Al he could think of as Carol.
Radu awoke feeling a little bit sick to the stomach. He look from side to side and seen that the room was empty. The white walls that were surrounding him were like walls of a prison. He sat upright in his bed and seen still no one. A tear fell down his cheek, a tear that said that he was scared to be alone and wanted his friends. He drag his legs to the end of the bed and rested them on the floor. His weakness was more noticeable when he tried to raise himself off the bed. With one step he fell flat on his face. He was scared and not sure why he is not able to walk. As he was thinking this he dragged himself to the door. The task was hard and if made Radu grow very tired. Carol was on her daily trip around the hospital and was going towards Radu’s door. As she came closer she heard a loud cry come from his room. She ran in and seen Radu on his back staring at the ceiling. Carol thought first that he was dead but then his eyes shifted and he said “please help me”. she looked over to him and picked him up and brought him back to his bed.
Dan and Arsenie where driving back to the hotel with sad hearts. Arsenie was thinking about Carol and how much fun they use to have when they were together. He peered out the window and did not recognize the scenery. He looked over at Dan who was staring without blinking down the road straight ahead. “what you thinking about Dan” he said as he began to play with his fingernails. Dan was speechless for a long while and finally managed to say “why…does this have to happen to us. All we wanted was a vacation. Have fun. Not all this” his gaze did not come off from the road as Arsenie took this all in. they both took a deep breath and were silent for the rest of the drive. The weather was sunny and the people were in the parks playing with their friends and family. Its seems that the world has not stopped because they had a bad day. No matter what they were going threw the gardener would still talk to his flowers, the children would still run in the sand and the women will still laugh and gossip. Nothing has slowed down or paused.
Radu watched as carol worked hard to get Radu back in place. “why can’t I walk” he said as he looked into her eyes. Carol seen the worried look in him and said “when you were attacked your back muscles were scratched up and caused them to be weak”. she kept on with her work as he laid there staring out the window. Carol looked over at him and could see that he had a lot of worry and sadness in his heart. “well you can get out today you seem to be fine but I need you to stick around so I can do some observations’ Carol said to him as she was putting away her things. “how long” he said back to her. “a week”. he nodded and Carol help him to get dressed and ready to go. It was early and Radu sat there in the wheel chair waiting to see his friends. All afternoon he waited thinking every car was theirs. The disappointment was getting worse as he sat there. What has he done so wrong that a man like this has to suffer. Was this punishment for what he did to his wife or was it just what life throws at you. Whatever it was, it made his judgement for himself very low.
“we should go check if Radu is ready Dan” Arsenie said to him hoping he didn’t forget about their friend. Dan knew he had to go there but he was not sure to go. He felt that all this bad fortune was happening because of him. It was Dan’s idea to come to England and have a good vacation with his best friends he has ever had. Things were never suppose to go this way. Dan open his phoned and dialled quickly a number. Arsenie sat there watching the actions of his angry friend. “Dan who are you calling” Arsenie said in a nervous voice. Dan was silent until the person on the other line answer. “alo, Ana you have to come to England something bad has happened to Radu and he needs you”. Dan closed the phone and drove on. “is she going to come” Arsenie said to Dan. There were still no words coming from his lips so Arsenie gave up trying to talk to him. Dan sharply turned the car around and headed for the hospital.
Radu was happy to see his friends come in the drive way of the hospital. He got scared from the mean look Dan was holding on his face. “hi guys what took you so long” he said to them both but not getting a reaction out of them. Dan quickly put Radu in the car and drove off. “Dan this is not your fault you know, things like these happen to everybody” as Radu said this his phone began to ring. Arsenie and Dan paid no attention to it because Radu always got calls from the fan club owners. Dan finally was in a more excited mood now that Radu lifted his sprits more.
“that Carol is very pretty. Who is she to you Sento” Dan said looking over at Arsenie.
“she was the only women I use to love Dan” arsenie said looking down at his ring he had on his finger from Carol that he never took off his hand.
“wow you only love that is important” he said in return to his comment.
Radu ended his call with a bright smile on his face. He just got a call from Ana. She forgave him for what he has done wrong and will be in England at the end of the week to visit him. The news thou he did not share with his friends. The drive was peaceful as they made their way back to the hotel.
Arsenie was having a restless night so he wondered the hallways of the hotel hoping to find something to keep him entertained. He walked down the stairs to the main entrance to watch all the people walk threw. The hotel was a very nice place. The beige colour walls made him fell at peace as he walked down the long hallway. The smell was of lilac with a small hint of Tahitian orchid. When that particular smell came to his smell Carol came right away to his mind. Then he thought back to where he first met her in the hospital. He missed her more then ever before. When he first started the band and started to drift away from her he wished he never have been in the band. He wanted to be with her. Dan noticed he was missing something so he gave Arsenie a break. He went back to her but only to find out that she has moved to America and was going to school there. He wrote to her every day but she only seemed to reply to two of them. He soon gave up from trying to contact her and stayed heavily concentrated in his work. Nothing seemed to clear his mind from her beauty and nothing ever will.
Carol sat in her hotel room getting ready for bed. As the night time passed, her to felt restless. She walked to her window to stare at the wonderful night life below her. As she stared at one particular person she noticed that is was Arsenie. She wanted to run in to his arms and say that she loved him so much and wished she had chose him instead of Tom. Tom was the man every women was looking for. But along with that comes some bad omens. He was an drug addict and very aggressive. He did not like that Carol wanted to be a nurse so he kicked her out of the house and forced her to stay at the hotel. The place has become her home and she loved the place. Now her true love stands just a few feet from her face. She knew that being with him would not be the right choice. So, no matter how hard Tom was on her she could not leave him. She loved him even thou he had some rough edges.
Arsenie walked down that road and heading for the night club just two buildings away from the hotel. The place was filled with hundreds of people. To Arsenie liking there were plenty of beautiful women. None of them seemed to satisfy him. When he looked in every women face all he could see was Carol. He did not know why he loved her so much. There was something about her that made the world to him not matter at all. Maybe this was the thing that hit him. Carol was the only girl who he could think of while he in the worst of things and not have a care in the world. All he would have is the love for that one women. He wanted to run back to where ever she is, confess his strong love he had for her and tell her that he wanted her to join him where ever he goes. He never wants to have to feel that heart ache no more that he had when she was gone. The club grew very boring and he left to go and try and sleep again.
It was their fourth day in England. Radu was getting better from his wounds and was able to take a few steps. Arsenie was in this lost trance always walking around aimlessly. Dan was the only one who was enjoying his vacation. He got out and had a good time and liked where he was. Dan had no worries in the world. All he ever wanted was his mother to be there when ever he needed her. She was not there no matter how much he wanted her. This didn’t make Dan so sad because it was like this his whole life. His mother was always on the go with her fame. He was alone today walking around exploring the city and seeing all that he can see. The city of England had every thing to offer for his interest. He took a long stroll down to the park benches and sat there clearing his head from every thought and watched at the people walk past. All the ladies once in awhile threw smiles at Dan. One even stopped to talk to him. This really was Dan’s day.
It was late in the afternoon and Radu was slowly waking from his sleep. To him this day is great. Ana has forgiven him for what he has done. Nothing could make his day anymore worse. He arose from is bed and seen the room was empty. Curious to see where his friends where he slowly walked over towards the door. The task was a big challenge to him. He was forcing himself this time and the pain rip threw his back with every new step he took. He fought it because he wanted to get away from his bed and do something other then sleeping. He finally made his way to the hallway. As look down the hall, he seen that he had a challenge in front of him. Sweat and tears began to pour down his face as he pushed himself along knowing that he can do it. He stood straight and walked more ahead. Not having support made his back in pain even more. But he walked he wanted to get out and he wanted to see his friends. As every step he took made him tired he slowly began to fall. then with the last step he took he fell. Landing on stomach and from all the hard work that he did left him to passing out. He felt some sort of failure for not being able to make it.
Arsenie went to the lunch room looking for something to eat. As he made his way in there he saw a familiar face. It was Carol, sitting there with her tea and cereal. Arsenie was not sure what to do or say. He also did not know what he was doing because before he knew it he was making his way towards her. He sat him self down worrying what was going to happen next. “hi” Carol said as she looked at him and laughed to herself. Arsenie was relieved that him sitting there didn’t freak her out. “how is your friend” she said without her eyes leaving her bowl of cereal. “Radu, he is great. Walking already” he said to her in a delighted voice.
“so what you doing eating here. don’t you have like a home or something” he was no so sure to have said this and the manner was a bit rude.
“my husband don’t want me in the house when I work” she said to him stopping her tears from coming down.
“what, why would he do that shouldn’t he be proud of you for all this work you are doing” he was beginning to get angry from what he has heard.
Carol got up from her chair as she made her way fast to her room. Arsenie was not sure what to do so he followed her. The walk was silent and he wanted no more words to come from his lips.
Dan was beginning to get bored so he made his way back to the hotel. The weather was getting cloudy and Dan feared it would be a storm. He was freighted from them, he had no real reasons why or what was there to be afraid of. All he knew was that he watched his uncle get struck by lightening. After that he became weird and depressed. Rain began to pour down hard, the cold drops on his head made him more and more scared. Dan ran for shelter near a restaurant called “la stanza”. he did not realize that he was hungry until he smelled the good food. He decided to stay and eat lunch until the rain stopped. Thunder began to roll along with lightening. He waited there for all it to blow over so he can continue his walk to the hotel.
Carol and Arsenie made their way down the hall to where her room was. He wanted to say so many thing to her but none of the words seemed right. He looked over her to her and said “Carol I love you and want. All I knew was greatness when I was with you and I lost it the day I left. And I want to fell that again” he was not sure what her reaction would be. He stood there waiting for an answer from her. She looked at him and tears began to roll down her cheeks. Arsenie put out his hands and held her face in his palms. She lifted her eyes to meet his, the moment was something to cherish. He moved his head closer and kissed her gently on the lips. He was grateful for this day. He moved his lips away from hers to see her smiling sweetly. A small scream came from the turned hallway. Arsenie and Carol rushed to see what it was. To their surprise it was Radu lying on the floor.
The rain stopped and Dan walked back to the hotel. The street were empty from all the walking people. As he went in the building he recognized a voice that sounded similar to Ana’s. he looked over not to see some girl who looks like her but Ana herself. She was talking to her friend Melody who she decided to bring along. Dan ran to her side and said “so what are you doing here”. Ana jumped back in surprise then gave Dan a hug. “where is Radu?” she said with her eyes in excitement. Dan looked at her, laughed and made his way to the hallway. She followed him hoping that he was going to take her to Radu. Ana followed behind and seen that Dan’s pace was getting faster. He started to run, as he got further ahead she seen was he was running towards. There she saw Radu on the floor motionless. Her heart began to race as he walked faster to get to him. With one knee she knelt down beside him hoping that he was not dead. Radu opened his eyes and laughed at the site of everyone’s worried look on their faces. “Radu don’t ever scare us like that again” Ana said to him as she helped him to his feet. Both Ana and Radu made their way to Radu’s room to get him back in bed. Everyone went their separate ways to call it a night.
Arsenie was awoken suddenly by loud knocking on the door. He ran to the door to see Carol standing there with fear in her eyes. “what happened to you” he said to her as he made her way in his room. She looked in his eyes and began to cry “my husband, I didn’t know where to go. He was hitting me”. Arsenie lead her to sit down at the edge of the bed. He stood there holding her in his arms not realizing that he was half dressed. All this didn’t matter because she was in a bigger ordeal then anything else. All he can do now was be there for her and comfort her. “everything will be ok. Just leave him that all you have to do” he said to her smiling.
“I want to Arsenie more then ever but I cannot do it alone” she put her face in her hands and cried more.
“then I will help you. I love you and I will do all that I can to save you” he took one final look into her eyes and kissed her. He was going to help her. Even if he never sees her again. All he wanted to see was her happy again. The way he knew her when they first met. He will do everything in his power to do just that.
“what were you thinking when that animal attacked you” Ana said to Radu playing with his t-shirt. He looked over to her and seen what an amazing person he would have lost. “I was thinking about you, and the baby and that I want to be a great husband and father” he knew after this that he would respect life a little more then he did.
“you promise not to ever cheat on me again” she said looking now in his eyes. “no I will never again I know what I got to lose and I never want to lose it ever again” this made her smile and together they slept the night away. Dan shared his night with Ana’s friend Melody. Everyone was tired from the long day that they had and slept very well. Arsenie and Radu were with the women they love. Dan was in a bed with a total stranger who wanted to know everything about them. In the nights end everyone dreams were sweet.
